Amsterdam, Netherlands
These two pictures were slightly unlike those I took the first time in Amsterdam although they represent three common sights -bikes, canals, and tall thin houses. I made sure to take a couple photos like this before we flew out of Amsterdam.
We had eaten here before too. The Pancake Bakery is known for its good pannekoeken. The one on the left is a tomato, basil, mozzarella pannekoeken, and the one on the right is apple and banana. Jamie is a little sunburned probably from the Swiss Alp hiking.
Click HERE for a pannekoeken recipe that tastes very close to what we had in Amsterdam.
Does this cat look worn out? He deserves to look that way--he's 20 years old and kind of a legend. He has spent his entire life in one of Amsterdam's "green" coffeehouses. Ah, so relaxed... dude...
This is the view from our hotel room, on our last night. The neon green light was Popeye's, a "green" coffeehouse, and the one across the street has the white/green sign as well. Such coffeehouses were indeed common.
